Reviews and Ratings
Despite being right on Hiway 49, the hotel offers spacious rooms with two comfortable chairs and a little table, yet the surroundings feel a bit like a swamp.
The hotel was conveniently located right off the highway, making it suitable for our visit to see friends in Grass Valley. The rooms were expensive for what we received and never warmed up enough for comfort, but being right outside was convenient. The dining experience was limited to just coffee and a small prepacked Danish, which was disappointing, but there were gluten-free products available.
I found the hotel to be a bit of a letdown overall. The location was a highlight with its surroundings of trees, but the room I stayed in was far from pleasant and had a strong odor. The service I received, particularly with my late arrival, was very accommodating and helpful, which was a relief. Sadly, the dining options were minimal, and the breakfast did not meet expectations. Despite some positives, the negatives left a lasting impression.
I have to say that my stay at this hotel was a bit of a mixed bag. The rooms smelled like they had been smoking rooms for 50 years, had a microwave and fridge which was handy, but they were filthy with ancient beds and an overall stench that was off-putting. The location just off the highway was convenient, though.
The hotel had some positive aspects like friendly service and convenient location close to Grass Valley, but there were also drawbacks like outdated rooms and limited breakfast options. Overall, it was an average stay with room for improvement.
